e-Forum runs regular Learning Journeys enabling members to deepen their understanding of e-government issues by exploring first hand innovative e-government programmes and their implementation.
Learning Journeys were invented by Napier Collyns of the Global Business Network as a tool to explore topics in greater detail than a simple presentation would. By using the natural curiosity of the audience, Learning Journeys enable attendees to deepen and accelerate their acquisition of knowledge of how radical changes can be made. e-Forum has been working with Napier to ensure that the three key elements of a successful learning journey are incorporated in the design of these events.
Learning Journeys reflect the fact that the most powerful learning occurs through experience, interaction, and collaboration with practitioners, not from formal lectures. They produce a shared, collaborative platform for analysis and action. In order to achieve this, they do require a high level of interactivity form the audience, so aspiring attendees must be prepared to engage in extensive group dialogue.
In order to ensure that the necessary interaction can take place, the number of attendees is generally limited to 20.
