Study electronic identity management in depth at Smart University

Identity Management Systems (IMS) are the new citizen’s gateway to the Information Society, but at the flow of identity information proliferates and the increasing digitisation of authentication/identification processes in private and professional spheres creates new vulnerabilities, protection of identities against theft becomes ever more important.

A one day educational module concerning identity management will be provided at Smart University, co-located with the sixth edition of the eSmart smart card conference in Sophia Antipolis, France, on 21 September 2005.

The workshop has been designed by Sabine Delaitre, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of Seville, European Commission and courses will be delivered by experts and valuable professionals:

• Martin Heints, ICPP (Germany)
• Lorenz Mueller, Axsionics (Switzerland)
• Paul Smith, Hyperion Consult (UK)
• Andrew Wallwork, London School of Economics (UK)
• Michel Levi, Cardiff University (UK)
• Dr Philip Seltsikas, University of Surrey (UK)

The module will focus on Identity Management Systems, authentication solutions in the digital world, eIdentification, e-Identity through the TFI approach, identity theft as a media and political issue, identity fraud with biometrics properties.

For registration and further information about the module, including prices, go to: http://www.smart-university.net. Detailed information about speakers can be found here.
