The FASTeTEN project has drafted a business plan setting out a strategy for roll-out of the FAST technology, building on pilot deployments of FAST that have been done during the FASTeTEN project. FAST stands for Fournisseur d’Accès Transactionnels Sécurisés, and is a technical platform for secure exchange of electronic documents. It has wide application in both the public and private sectors and can be used in a range of contexts. Pilot deployments have covered educational services and e-Procurement, and further pilot deployments in neighbourhood policing services, and in citizen information services are underway.
As the basis for strategic business planning, a survey was carried out to assess the potential demand for FAST. Between July 2009 and April 2010, 150 interviews were carried out with public administrations in France, Spain, Italy, Hungary and UK. The survey led to the identification of a number of potential future deployments of FAST, and to a segmentation of potential administrative areas in which FAST would be most relevant.
